An ICO (which stands for Initial Coin Offering) is a recently emerged concept of crowdfunding projects in the cryptocurrency and Blockchain industries. ICO . It’s an event, sometimes referred to as ‘crowdsale’, when a company releases its own cryptocurrency with a purpose of funding. It usually releases a certain number of crypto-tokens and then sells those tokens to its intended audience, most commonly in exchange for Bitcoins, but it can be fiat money as well. ICOs are the crossroads of cryptocurrency and crowdsourcing. And, a new survey shows that they are quietly being invested in by forex traders.
Quite surprisingly, it turns out that almost a third of forex traders have either invested in an ICO or are planning to do so in the future. The survey, aimed at gauging the trust in this new combination of crowdfunding and cryptocurrency, had almost 700 respondents.
The most interesting finding was that 19% of the respondents have already hopped on the bandwagon and invested in an ICO. Some 8.5% stated that they are interested in doing so in the future and are looking for an ICO to suit them.
