Tutorial video summary: technical analysis and Nadex charts

In this video, you'll learn how to use technical analysis and leverage the robust functionality of Nadex charts.

Step 1: log in to your Nadex account

Then choose one of the three trading products: binary options, call spreads, or knock-outs. Click on one of the market classes, and select an expiration option. We chose:

  • Binary options

  • Forex

  • Euro/US dollar

  • Daily

Step 2: choose a contract

This will populate a price chart and bring up an order ticket.

Step 3: customize your chart

  • Make it larger: click on the ‘markets’ icon in the upper left-hand corner, or the double blue arrows.

  • Adjust the time interval: use the dropdown menu in the upper left-hand corner, or type a number between one and five and hit ‘enter’.

  • Choose your date range: select from the dropdown menu under the date range icon.

  • Zoom in or out: hover your mouse over the prices on the right-hand side and scroll. If you click and drag, you can expand or condense the price range. You can also use the toggle buttons at the top of the chart.

  • Move your chart up and down. Click and drag on the center of the chart – the ‘latest price’ play button will re-center it around the most recent price.

  • Choose your display – the ‘show’ icon allows you to add indicators, drawings, open positions, and working orders.

Step 4: carry out your technical analysis

  • Populate the chart with pre-built technical analysis tools – select from the ‘indicators’ dropdown menu. Hover over the ‘i’ icon to see additional educational information.

  • Use drawing tools – draw your own support and resistance levels, trend lines, channels, or Fibonacci retracement overlays with just a couple of clicks.

Step 5: save your favorite chart layouts

Right-click on the chart – this brings up a menu displaying all customization tools. You can save a layout by clicking ‘save as’ on this menu, and then giving it a name. You’ll be able to quickly apply your settings to any chart by clicking ‘apply’ and choosing a saved layout.

And there you have it. You can now set up charts your own way, getting you into the exciting action of Nadex prediction markets.
